Humanity Washed Ashore?

A beautiful beach, wind blowing, cool sea breeze. A man stood near the shore taking in the beautiful scene. Gazing out in the ocean, he sighed and started to walk along the shore. The clear blue sky above him was mesmerizing. Nothing seemed to be more beautiful or soothing than this moment right here. Suddenly, he saw something on the beach. The waves kept crashing against the tiny thing. When the man came close enough, he saw it was a little boy, about 3-4 years old. Laying face first on the sand, the boy wore a red shirt and blue shorts. The man rushed to the child's side, flipping him over, he checked him for a pulse or any sign of life. But it was too late, the boy had been dead for a while. There was no telling how long he had been there. The man was devastated at this sight. He prayed for the little boy as he caressed his hair. What more could he do for him? He tried calling the local ambulance and then sat there. He kept staring at the more empty vessel before him. Who could...

Aik thi Nigar - Telefilm Review

Salam! Today we are here to present a review for a newly released telefilm titled Aik Hai Nigar. The review has been written by @tayyaba._.fatima . I'm so honoured to have the opportunity to write something to appreciate a true gem of our country, the very first woman  Lieutenant General, Nigar Johar Khan The film premiered on ARY Digitial on 23rd October.  This biopic is written by Umera Ahmed. I'm truly amazed to watch the biography of such an inspirational and brave woman. This is the freedom that we want. This is what we women want from this society, that they change their mindset. So what if she's a woman? She can do everything, every single thing, which a man can or can't do. If a woman can give a birth to a child, then she can face every danger, tough situation and compete it with her whole heart and strength. This story gives women the goal of surviving in each and every situation of her life. Nigar Johar, She was an obedient daughter, a kind sister, a brilliant...

The Kashmiri Catastrophe

A beautiful valley among the mountains, a piece of heaven on earth. Torn into two pieces. Hell has made its place in Heaven. Neighbourhoods, which used to be filled with the laughter of children in the east of Kashmir, now reflect a sight of bloodshed and torture. While the Azad Kashmir lives in peace with Pakistan their hearts ache for their brothers and sisters in the Jammu Kashmir, illegally occupied by India. A young girl from such a neighbourhood opens the door of her house to peek outside. No one in sight. Asma picks up her bag, hanging it over her shoulder. Reciting a few verses from the Quran, she steps out and begins walking down a path. She keeps looking behind her just to be sure that it’s safe. She watches as her friend approaches from another path and joins her. The two have high hopes that they could reach school today. So many times they had to run back to the safety of their homes, as they would discover nearby riots on their way to school. After taking a few turns, the...

October - The month of scares!

We are thirteen days into October and so much close to Halloween already! But let this year be about actual scares instead of made-up ghost stories and characters. Point to remember: We are Pakistanis, there is no concept of Halloween in our culture nor the Day of the Dead festivities, hence we will avoid such things. Instead, we'll be focusing on many horrifying events taking place around the world regarding our community. To bring you up to speed, let it be known that crimes against the Muslim community have been rapidly increasing. While most of the world remains silent on the atrocities being committed, some of them happen to be Muslim countries too. These are the genuine horrors of life. So many people living under the fear of their life. Countless homes destroyed and much more to be destroyed, with no condemnation from the Super Power Countries. The constant bloodshed in Syria, Palestine, Yemen, Kashmir and many other places! By Allah! It is impossible to list all the countri...
