Phase 1: The Arrest that shocked the country The afternoon of 9th may saw the arrest of Imran Khan that had been expected since the moment he had been ousted from the government last year. Imran Khan was arrested from inside of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) where he had been present for his bail cases. Imran Khan currently has over a hundred cases registered against him. The cases range from sedition charges to corruption, from terrorism to money laundering. Hardly a law could be found in the book which Imran Khan is not said to have violated, claims the government. Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, had recently announced the schedule of his public rallies set to take place throughout Punjab. The provincial elections of Punjab are set to take place on 14th of may.
